Silicone foam dressing
For sensitive skin & waterproof
I'm a senior and have been dealing with a stupid & annoying recurring abcess on my upper back on the left since last September. It's not all that big but boy is it difficult to try to hold a hand mirror and aim a bandage onto it. When I use smaller 2 x 3 bandages, which would cover it, I miss my aim many times and end up with the adhesive part covering the wound area. Not good. I have to toss THAT bandage and try again. I finally found these larger bandages that are 4 x 4. They're hypoallergenic. The foam pad is thick & absorbant but way too sticky for my particular wound so I cut a piece of dry guaze and place it against the sticky foam pad before applying the bandage. Works perfect. Otherwise, it would pull open the thin skin in that area and it would never heal. Another thing I especially like about these bandages is, they are water proof. I cannot not let the forceful water from the shower hit this stupid wound or it opens it up and causes it to become inflamed. I'm able to cover it up with one of these bandages and take my shower & shampoo my hair as I normally would and it remains dry. It stays on good adhered condition & I don't have to replace it when I dry off & get dressed. I definitely will purchase again and I recommend. Pretty easy on senior thin skin. Another thing I like is that I see these bandages in this same size at places like Walmart, Target, grocery stores etc. And, the price is always about the same no matter where you purchase them.
